The same applies to mass producing structures if you build them next to structures, although that can be trickier. If it is a production facility, the amount of power required to build is reduced. If it takes power to run, the amount of power needed is reduced. Building power plants immediately next to certain structures provides benefits. If you plan to play competitively, you have to live and breath adjacency.
