Now it's an adventure-walking simulator at best, not an Adventure or even an Action-RPG, cause the combat is pointless now, aside from just being "have gear, can win, don't have gear, die fast". Stripping back the system the game was based on and starting over again 4-6 years later is pointless if people bought the game with the premises that there was infinite leveling (not infinite restarting every 5 hours and a meaningless system NAMED leveling but not actually leveling), as well as the RPG elements and exploration. Sure, there were issues, but it was the alpha.

When mods come out, who knows, maybe someone will mod in an xp system. Mobs level up based on you, if you keep leveling too far you will eventually be decked out in awesome equipment but walking outside the town will be just the same as you walking out, level 1, in all level 1 gear. You get so strong, you gear can only get so strong, adapting your gear to your power level costs ungodly amounts of platinum(for those who don't know, would allow you to take an old favorite piece of equipment and raise it to your level but the larger the raise, the more platinum it cost), and then when you get 10-20 platinum with any said boss fight, the boosting of an item can be a few hundred, to a few thousand Plat. Leveling is by far the worst part though, as it is literally meaningless and pointless, even though it's the central function of the game, so that simple fact makes me want the alpha back (among the 5 people I play with having the same or similar gripes). I'm having fun at times, but I find my attention constantly wandering to Youtube or something else and AFK tabbing out for 10 and 15 minutes at a time to recover interest in starting the game over every 3 or 4 hours when the artifacts for the region are gone and my gear is no longer useful. I have yet to gauge any meaningful approval of removing XP, removing skill points, and removing gear progression (those are my personal 3 main gripes that make this game literally a shadow of the game it was previously) but I mean, the functionality problems like not being able to toggle healthbars in all of field of view, the missing health bars for you and pet from the top corner, and the persistent crafting recipes/area quest rewards/meaningful usefulness of improving mobility tools really makes this game suck in some major ways. Honestly, this product is 30% worse after 6 years of "updates" and I'm not particularly happy about it personally. The game was dramatically better in many ways before these "updates" and I vastly preferred that game.
